I can’t believe it’s Thursday already! But it’s perfect timing to join in again with the My Creative Space link-up.
The week has passed in a blur of unpacking, sorting, cleaning, child minding and puppy wrangling! Not a whole lot of creativity going on, but one of the first things I did unpack were my crochet squares that I made on our trip. You can find my original post about this project here.
I had mailed bunches of squares home as we traveled so I was itching to see how they all looked together. There was no rhyme or reason with the colour selection so I’m pretty happy with how it looks together.
I bought a ball or two of yarn from every place we stayed, except for one where I actually found a shop but it was closed while we there. I had to drool through the window instead – it was only just up the street from our hotel too! My only requirement when purchasing the yarn was it had to be 100% wool (or close) and machine washable and suitable for a 4mm hook.
Lucas being ‘helpful’ with the blocking
Getting started on the ‘blocking’ was next, completed over a few days. Now I have 30 nice and square 6 inch squares.
There are a few balls of wool leftover, so I’m looking forward to adding a few more squares to my ‘Europe Blanket’. Two of the balls of wool in the photo above I actually found in Bangkok, Thailand! Amazing. There was a multi-level bookshop in one of the shopping centres that had a decent size haberdashery and yarn section.
And here are a few random photos from this past week:

It’s so great buying wool from other countries. When I went to Iceland I made sure I bought some great local wool. It’s yummy. Your squares look great. I can see one of them is the “Queen Anne’s Lace” square – it’s such a pretty pattern from the book.

Plus, Oscar is sooo cute!!!
The colours and patterns you have used in each block is just divine. I am a novice at crochet and would love to be able to such beautiful patterns. I look forward to seeing how it all pieces together.
That’s going to be the most gorgeous blanket. I absolutely love the colours and patterns.
Gorgeous! The squares, the colours, the puppy and the kids
Looking forward to seeing the finished blanket.
I love the patterns you have chosen – they look great together! I clicked back on your original post and I love them in the grey too!
Oscar, your children and your blanket are all gorgeous!
